An update for les4lifepaul. Readers listen to this person. Don't complain when things go south, and then say you were not advised through the reviews. And directly to les4lifepaul, I speak and write in three languages and hold a higher college degree. A college professor as well.
They call you back for a customer satisfaction survey I believe and I told the lady the situation. She suggested me to go get another opinion and come back but I did not. All I cared for is that my car was out of their hands. Now, go fire her if you are the so called owner.
My opinion is they did a bad diagnostic at the beginning or really did not pay attention, took my money and now the excuse just to get rid of you. And I did not get my money back. I'll see what I can do about it. At least it wasn't thousands like the other review.
I do not know why that affects you mentally to the point that you have to use insults. Is that your deal? Do you need to insult to make people listen to you? I do not see anyone insulting you here. Showing your higher education one would think. My opinion is that insulting people does a disservice to this business. Is this the kind of person the world should take the word for it? Your business should be to present your opinion. Perhaps this person is related to this business.
Honest, Informative, and Quality! I have been taking my SUV's to Challenger for the last 2 years. Jeff has been thorough in his diagnostics and his explanations on recommended repairs, and is very honest on things that can wait or are unnecessary. They stand by their work and follow up on repairs to make sure there are no further issues. Prices are more than fair. Customer for life!
The are so nice and were able to squeeze us in when we had an issue with our truck that was found during the state inspection! Definitely recommend and although I hope we don't have to, will definitely use them for future repairs
9-1-17, I see this guy Jeff shaking hands with costomer in TV commercial. He does not and absolutely not make honest word of mouth agreements. If you watch TV shows about work and projects the owner shaking a hand is a form of understanding at most of all trust. What a shame, it my post I wrote he said he would replace my damaged motor. He did so many mistakes that cost me money. He attempted to use 305 Chevy injectors in a 350 cubic inch engine. He used the old oil pressure sender that was a 1986 and used it on a new engine. It failed and lost all oil pressure. I'd brought the car back twice for the smell of engine oil smell and smoke after at a stop. He only used one bolt to hold the header flange for exhaust. Toms exhaust fixed that. The list goes on and on.
One more thing. They look for other things to do in your car, be careful. They wrote in the diagnostic that the rack and pinion was leaking and it is not. I know it is not , I am mechanically inclined and work on my cars. They wrote other things as well but just to give you an example. Took it there because what I needed fixed does need special tools, and I am tight on time right now. But I am going to buy the tools and do it my self.
3. According to them the car is "fixed". The car kept doing the same thing.
True, English is not my first language and I tend to use sentence construction from my native language when I write. Commit more errors when mad too. But you should show me how it is done. I own 6 cars, three of them classics and do repairs on them unless I am tight on time, do not have the tools or want it done fast. So news for you, fixing cars is not rocket science, there are shop manuals easy to follow and youtube is taking business from mechanics for the reasons I presented above and more. People are not that stupid anymore, tired of crooked "mechanics", doing their own repairs and have the right to their own opinions.
4. Took it back and no news for over a week. I called to find out and then told me the issue is not what they worked on. I don't even think they checked the car. I have to call to find out and then they came out with that excuse. Sorry, I am not stupid. It is doing the same thing.
I have a 2009 Jeep(standard) and a 2001 Chevy (automatic, diesel) and have taken both to Challenger . I have had fantastic experiences each and every time. My first exoerience was after hours and my vehicle had to be towed in. I had a bad experience with the tow truck driver and Jeff and another employee were waiting for me to arrive after they had already closed. I was very grateful they did because I was in a very vulnerable position. Challenger has been my shop ever since and I will never go anywhere else. They do a great job of diagnosing and repairing all the vehicles and everyone there is always in a good mood. If you have to have work done on a vehicle wouldn't you like to go somewhere they are happy to see you? Jeff and his family, which includes all employees ,are honest and have never treated me with anything but the utmost respect. Challenger truck and Auto is #1 in Pasadena!
1. They tell you over the phone that a diagnostic is $50, then they charged me $98.
2. It took about a week to get a diagnostic. No clue why they do appointments.
Jeff, Starts out as a very nice person. Then does not hold to his word including his posted advertisement, he is the only person operating the busness. I attempted to speak to someone else and could not. It is NOT family operated. I've spent well over 11K and refused to give a written estimate after saying he would provide one. The list of poor workmanship is to long to list. My advise is the same as the first post " Horriable". Please take the advise posted and do not go through what others have. Most won't take the time to report such rotten service. I will have to end up taking Jeff to court to correct his misunderstanding of how to tell a coustomer when he goes above 10% of the estimate ( by law ) and his misunderstanding of how to treat a coustomer when he replaces parts on a new engine build that are 27 ( oil sending unit that failed with in 200 miles and blame me ! ) years old that can destroy and new engine build, then blame me. Please I strongly advise not even to take your car/truck in for even a oil change. I have had to take the car back after over and over and I was not puting miles on it. Jeff had it for 7 months then tells me it needed more work and limit driving. Again, Please take these posts for real. I continue to have issues unreal and he refuses to man up and " hand shakes of trust" mean nothing to Jeff "
To the owner response and the other one that have to insult people to make his/her point. The issue was an incorrect bearing. I did not took it back simply because I don't trust this place. And to make it clear, I am not a mechanic but come from a family where there are few and know a thing or two. Most of the time I do my own repairs unless don't have time or the tools.
I wish these reviews have been here earlier. Just FYI, My car was there about four weeks between the first and second visit for something that should have taken a couple of hrs. I think they are hurting for money, do not have enough personnel and are cutting corners. They may do well in routine stuff, however, when things get complicated you are basically on your own.
BTW, got my car fixed. I would not have issues paying to get my car fixed. But doing a diagnostic, saying it was fixed, then taking the car back with the exact same issue (and the noise was worse) and telling me that is another thing. Sorry! I did not complained and took my car back because I was afraid the car would get worse in their hands.
